Arrest As 'Historic Murder' Back On Agenda

A death in west Belfast more than 35 years ago is again under the spotlight after detectives from the PSNI's Serious Crime Branch have arrested a 54-year-old man as part of a renewed investigation into the 1975 murder.

Inquiries have been re-opened into the murder of Paul Crawford, 25, who was shot on the Falls Road on 12 April 1975. The shooting happened at the time of a republican feud.

Detectives have re-opened the investigation after information was forwarded by the Historical Enquiries Team, which reviewed Mr Crawford's death.

The suspect, who was arrested in west Belfast yesterday morning, was taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim police station for questioning.
