Derry PSNI Attacked With Petrol Bombs
There has been further trouble in Londonderry this past weekend with petrol bombs thrown at police in the Milltown Crescent area of lower Tullyally at around 11.35pm on Sunday.
The violence broke out around 24 hours after dissident republicans stage-managed trouble following an otherwise peaceful loyal orders by the Apprentice Boys around Derry's historic walls.
A police spokesperson said that officers were responding to reports that a group of youths had damaged windows at a number of homes when they came under attack.
It is understood the youths had been attending a bonfire in the area around the time of the incident.
Foyle Alliance Representative Keith McGrellis has condemned the violence: "I am appalled at this trouble. People want to live free from incidents of this nature and those who carry out acts like this must not be allowed to cause instability in our society.
"Northern Ireland is moving forward to a more peaceful and shared future and the progress made in recent years must not be hampered by the actions of a few individuals.
"I appeal to anyone with information on this incident to contact police immediately because those involved in such activities must be brought to justice," he said.
