Dog Attack Man Faces Court Fine
A 'Staffie' dog attack has landed a Belfast man in court.
He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £300 compensation after his dog attacked and injured a man last December.
Robert Gary Bradshaw, from Orkney Street in west Belfast, was convicted of the offence at Belfast Magistrates Court today and was also ordered to pay costs of £69.
His Staffordshire bull terrier attacked a man in his street on December 18, 2010.
Two other dog owners were also fined for allowing their dogs to stray.
Janice Mateer, from Inishowen Drive in south Belfast, was fined £30 and ordered to pay £69 costs, while Geraldine McCann, from Marchioness Street in west Belfast, was fined £20 and ordered to pay costs of £69.
The prosecutions were brought by Belfast City Council.
Meanwhile, three people have been fined for drinking alcohol in public.
John Bradley, from Springhill Rise in west Belfast, was fined £60 and ordered to pay costs of £66 after he was detected drinking alcohol at Springfield Park on April 3, 2011.
Mark Robert Busch, from Carmel Street in the south of the city, was fined £50 and ordered to pay costs of £66 after he was detected drinking alcohol in Botanic Gardens on April 21, 2011.
Christopher Boyd, from Schomberg Avenue in east Belfast, was fined £50 and ordered to pay costs of £66 after he was detected drinking alcohol at Bedford Street on April 14, 2011.

Fine Follows Double Dog Attack
A Newtownabbey man has been fined in court and ordered to pay £500 compensation after his two dogs attacked and injured a seven-year-old boy. Gareth Bullen, from Carnreagh Bend, was fined £300 at Belfast Magistrates Court and ordered to pay costs of £69 for the offence on July 27, 2009.

Suspended Prison Term For Fraudster
Nine people were convicted of benefit fraud at Belfast Magistrates' court this week for claiming benefits they were not entitled to - with one handed a jail term. Colin McGookin (52) of Sheringhurst Park, Belfast claimed Income Support, Incapacity Benefit and Disability Living Allowance totalling £25,168 while failing to declare employment.

Fraudsters are being made to pay the price for claiming a variety of benefits they were not entitled to. A total of 14 people were convicted at Belfast Magistrates' court yesterday with Joanne McBride (35) of Portallo Street, Belfast claiming Income Support totalling £4,451 while failing to declare she was working.
