Concern over drugs stolen in raid on chemist shop
Balmoral Sinn Fein representative Stephen Long has said that he is deeply concerned after a chemist shop in Finaghy Road South was held up in an armed raid on Tuesday and a large quantity of drugs stolen.
One gunman threatened staff and kicked one of them before lifting two boxes of Diazepam, each containing 500 tablets. The other two robbers smashed glass display cabinets and stole perfumes and aftershaves.
Mr Long, said: “With the triple tragedy in West Belfast over the weekend this latest chemist raid is clearly deeply worrying. It is the latest in a series of violent raids on chemist shops which have resulted in massive amounts of prescription drugs finding their way onto the black market.”
