Businesses Damaged By Blaze In Portstewart
An investigation has launched after a number of businesses were damaged by a blaze in The Diamond in Portstewart.
The alarm was raised at 5am on Monday, however fire crews were called back at around 9.30am.
A chip shop, coffee shop and hairdressers were damaged as a result.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

POLICE AND FIRE OFFICERS ATTACKED DURING BLAZE
A crowd of children, some as young as nine years, attacked police and fire officers with stones and other missiles while they attended a serious fire at a bar on the Whiterock Road in west Belfast which is believed to have been started deliberately on June 18. The fire started at 4.

Methodist Church Damaged In Arson Attack
Police have launched an investigation following a fire at a church in south Belfast. The attack happened at Cairnshill Methodist Church on the Ballylenaghan Road last Thursday night. A number of fires were started within the building and damage was caused in several rooms. A motive for the incident has yet to be established.

‘Suspicious’ fire at Downpatrick Baptist church
Detectives in County Down have launched an investigation into a fire at a Baptist church. Downpatrick Baptist Church was extensively damaged in the blaze that occurred at about 6pm on Saturday evening. The fire at the Church Street building has been described as “suspicious”.

Council vehicles damaged in fire
An arson attack is one line of investigation being taken by police after a garage housing council vehicles was damaged early this morning. Fire crews were called to the Derry City Council depot on Pennyburn Industrial Estate at about 1am were they found seven road cleansing vehicles and other motorised machinery on fire.

Decision To Cut Nurses Budgets Reversed
The Department of Health has reversed its decision to cut nurses training budgets. SDLP Health Spokesperson Mark H Durkan MLA welcomed the decision and said the "fiasco underscored the urgent need to re-establish powersharing with directly accountable Ministers".
