European Music Awards: Details Emerge
More details on the 18th annual 'MTV EMA' being broadcast live from Belfast's Odyssey Arena have emerged.
The event will take place on Sunday, 6th November at 9pm and the awards will feature performances from some of the world's biggest music stars.
Lady Gaga is rumoured to be among the famous attendees, and she is nominated in six categories with Katy Perry and Bruno Mars following closely behind with four nominations.
British songstress Adele, who stands as the top-selling artist of the year, has been nominated for three awards.
Other possible attendees could be Justin Bieber and Thirty Seconds To Mars, who are each up for three awards.
The list of EMA nominees also includes Foo Fighters, Snoop Dogg, My Chemical Romance, Jennifer Lopez, LMFAO, Jessie J, Beyoncé, Coldplay, Eminem, Arcade Fire, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Far East Movement, Kanye West, Linkin Park, Wiz Khalifa and Kings of Leon.
Last week it was announced that actress and singer Selena Gomez will host the event.

UU Nominated For Times Higher Education Awards
Two University of Ulster projects have been shortlisted for the Times Higher Education awards. The University was selected for its contribution to the local community through sports outreach, and for an ICT initiative aimed at promoting human rights awareness and research.

The police have thanked all those who attended events linked to the MTV Europe Music Awards, which attracted thousands of visitors to Belfast. The awards and related events were attended by international guests and broadcast around the world and Belfast was firmly in the spotlight of the world's media.

New schools project launched in Belfast
A new schools project, which aims to "showcase the creativity, innovation and talent of young people throughout Northern Ireland", was launched in Belfast today. The Adream Project for Schools is an internationally scalable gateway to a sophisticated Schools’ Directory which will initially offer every school in Northern Ireland a Mini-web presence.
