Catering deal for Eurest Sutcliffe
Eurest Sutcliffe, a subsidiary of Surrey based catering giant Compass, have announced a deal to provide catering services at Halifax’s new call centre in Belfast.
The deal, worth over £300,000 per annum, will ensure employment for 19 staff to run a seven-day service for the 800 staff at the state-of-the-art centre.
The contract is a welcome addition the company’s overall strategy following a £120 million catering for the Pentagon in Washington DC.
The contract will mean that Eurest Support Services, another subsidiary of Compass, will provide foodservice throughout the Pentagon, the high security base which houses the US Department of Defense, for around 26,000 personnel after signing a 17-year contract with the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM ).
In January 2000, Eurest Support Services was awarded a £70 million 10-year contract with NEXCOM to operate food courts and provide catering for over 270,000 personnel, initially at six major bases in the United States and two in Italy. The contract has now grown significantly and Eurest operates at 22 bases for NEXCOM. (MB)
