Two men shot in paramilitary style attacks in west Belfast
Two men have been shot in the ankles in separate paramilitary-style attacks in west Belfast.
The first man was shot in both ankles around 8.30pm in Norglen Parade on Wednesday night and was treated in hospital. The second attack happened in Vere Foster Walk around 10.40pm and the man was also shot in both ankles and sent to hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, five people have been arrested after police were attacked in Warrenpoint early on Thursday. The trouble began when a crowd of around 200 youths threw bottles and rocks in the Warrenpoint Square and Main Street area. The five, who were arrested, have been released on police bail and files have been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
In an explosion, a family has escaped injury in an attack on their home in north Belfast. Three children, aged between eight and 16, and their parents were in the house at Westland Road when the incident took place early on Thursday August 16.
The family was sleeping when a brick and a crude explosive device packed with nails, were thrown at the property. The device exploded in the garden causing minor damage to the house. (AMcE)

Man receives gun shot wounds in Derry attack
A man and woman who were badly injured following an assault in Londonderry had been abducted hours before in County Westmeath. The 42-year-old man and 38-year-old woman were found at High Park in Creggan at around 5:00am. They had been taken from their home in Mullingar between 8:00pm and 9:00pm on Monday evening and driven more than 120 miles.

A man from the Moyard Crescent area was shot in the ankles and elbows at 10.15pm on Thursday night. In a separate attack, a man received gunshot wounds to his ankles and one hand in the Beechmount Parade area just after 10pm.

Man And Woman Shot In West Belfast
A man and woman, aged in their 50s, have been shot in the legs in west Belfast. The attack happened at a house in Norglen Parade shortly after 6.15pm on Thursday, 12 January. The victims, understood to be husband and wife, were taken to hospital to be treated, however their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

'Malicious' fires in west Belfast
Police in west Belfast are investigating two suspected arson attacks within the last 24-hours. The first incident was reported at around 9pm yesterday evening, when emergency services were alerted to a blaze at a house in the Gartree Place area of Andersonstown. No one was in the property at the time.

A man shot dead in West Belfast on Saturday 18 December has been named as 31-year-old Mark Hall. According to police, two gunmen approached Mr Hall's family home on Rodney Drive shortly after 4:30pm.
