Ryanair in discussions with BIA on Aldergrove services
Low cost Irish airline Ryanair is believed to be in discussions with Belfast International Airport (BIA) over plans to bring its services to Aldergrove.
The airline, which already flies out of Londonderry, is believed to be extremely keen in flying from Northern Ireland’s main airport. However, the move would also be a welcome one for BIA following the recent decision by bmi British Midland to move its services to Belfast City.
However, Ryanair are also thought to be looking at a number of other airports throughout Europe and not just BIA.
Belfast International already operates flights by the other no frills flight operators Go and EasyJet. If Ryanair do decide to sign a deal with BIA it is certain to create even better bargains for passengers.
In other news at the International Airport, £15,000 raised by the Air 2000 team has been presented to the Breast Cancer Unit at the Ulster Hospital.
The Ulster Hospital has revealed that the money will be used to research new treatments, aimed at reducing the side effects of breast cancer therapies.
The amount was raised through a series of fundraising initiatives including a foreign coin collection and a charity night where Air 2000 staff performed their own production of the musical Grease. (MB)
