Durkan Welcomes HML Jobs Announcement

SDLP Foyle MP Mark Durkan has welcomed the announcement by HML that they are to create 39 jobs in Derry at the Ulster Science and Technology Park.

He said: "This announcement is welcome news in circumstances where employment prospects are very low in this difficult economic climate.

"In my most recent conversation with HML management they stressed that in the difficult decisions they would have to make in 2012 to keep their business in shape that the Derry operation was favoured because of the calibre and performance of their workforce.

"This new recruitment confirms HML’s commitment to Derry and high regard for the local workforce whose performance and efficiency has guaranteed the importance of the Derry operation to the company.

"I would also commend the role played by Invest NI in their continuing, positive engagement with the company."
