Body Recovered From River Lagan

The body of Joby Murphy, 20, has been recovered from the River Lagan in Belfast.

Mr Murphy fell from the footbridge at the Lagan Weir on 26 January after a night out at the Odyssey Arena.

On Saturday morning police divers retrieved the body.

Family members have been holding regular vigils at the site.

They have also called for an end to cheap drink promotions in the city.

Body Recovered From River Lagan
Police are investigating after a woman's body was discovered in the River Lagan. The body was found in the Shaw's Bridge area on Monday afternoon, 16 September. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage. A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

Man's body recovered from river Lagan
Police divers have been called in to recover a man's body from the Lagan river at Stranmillis. The body was spotted this morning by rowers in the Stranmillis area of south Belfast. Police divers were tasked to the area, where they found the man's body lying under a tree, partially in the water.

Body of man found in River Lagan
Police in South Belfast have confirmed that the body of a man has been found in the River Lagan. The body was discovered close to the Governor's Bridge in the south of the City by member's of staff from the Laganside Corporation who were carrying out routine maintenance work.
