Body of man found in River Lagan
Police in South Belfast have confirmed that the body of a man has been found in the River Lagan.
The body was discovered close to the Governor's Bridge in the south of the City by member's of staff from the Laganside Corporation who were carrying out routine maintenance work.
The body has now been removed and a post mortem examination is to be arranged.
The identity of the man is not yet known and a formal identification process will take place later.

Body Recovered From River Lagan
Police are investigating after a woman's body was discovered in the River Lagan. The body was found in the Shaw's Bridge area on Monday afternoon, 16 September. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage. A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

Lagan Body 'Not Suspicious'
Although police have still not revealed the identity of the man whose body was found floating in the water near the Lagan towpath, they have now confirmed that the death on Tuesday is not regarded as suspicious. The body was found close to the towpath at Drumbeg near Dunmurry, on the southern outskirts of Belfast by a member of the public.

Man's body recovered from river Lagan
Police divers have been called in to recover a man's body from the Lagan river at Stranmillis. The body was spotted this morning by rowers in the Stranmillis area of south Belfast. Police divers were tasked to the area, where they found the man's body lying under a tree, partially in the water.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a man was discovered at a house in Co Antrim. Emergency services were alerted to the Broombeg View area in Ballycastle at around 8.30pm on Thursday. Police launched a murder investigation after the body of a 48-year-old man was found.

Police Appeal For Parents Of Baby Found Dead In 1984
Police have issued an appeal for the parents of a baby boy found dead on the banks of the River Lagan on 21 February 1984. A woman out walking her dog found the babies body inside a green plastic bag at Legacurry Road in Lisburn 30 years ago. A post-mortem examination found that the baby had died of head injuries.
