Captain Remanded In Custody After Pleading Guilty To Drink Charge
The captain of a cargo ship involved in a crash with a ferry in Belfast Lough has pleaded guilty to a drink charge.
Polish 55-year-old Miroslaw Pozniak was charged with excess alcohol by the master of a ship at a court in Bangor today.
He has been remanded in custody.
An application for bail was mad, however the judge said that could be heard in court until Monday.
The prosecution will then decide if the case should process in a magistrate's or crown court.
No one was injured in the incident, but both vessels were substantially damaged.

Civil servant pleads guilty to indecent pictures charge
A man pleaded guilty in Londonderry Crown Court today to charges of making indecent photographs of a child. John Reginald Bond, 45, a civil servant from Fergleen Park in the Galliagh area of the city, admitted to the charge which dated back to February 2004. He also admitted to 24 similar charges during his court appearance.

A man from Co Armagh has been charged with the murder of British Army officer Robert Nairac. The undercover soldier was killed more than 32 years ago, and this week, Kevin Crilly, 59, from Lower Foughill Road, Jonesborough, has been charged with the murder and two counts of kidnapping and false imprisonment.
