PETROL-BOMB ATTACK INJURES YOUNG GIRL
IN one of two separate overnight petrol-bomb attacks a 10-year-old girl suffered burns as her home came under attack in south Belfast.
A couple and their four children were forced to flee their south Belfast home when bricks and a petrol-bomb were thrown through the front windows of the Dehli Street house in the Ormeau Road area.
Although the fire had burnt itself out by the time the fire brigade reached the scene the 10-year-old girl burned her hand as she was leaving the building. The girl’s mother said that she had been upstairs bathing one of her daughters and the rest of the family were watching television.
The family said that it was not the first time that the house has been attacked. The house was daubed with paint last year, and the family have been waiting since then for the Housing Executive to re-house the family.
In a second petrol-bomb attack in Ballymena a vacant house came under attack. The exterior of the house was slightly damaged. (SP)
