Hydebank Governor Suspended
The governor of an NI young offender's and women's prison has been suspended.
Gary Alcock was temporarily removed from his duties following concerns raised about the regime at Hydebank Wood by the prisoner ombudsman.
It is believed the issues identified by Prisoner Ombudsman Pauline McCabe comes after concerns raised during an investigation.
The investigation is expected to take weeks to complete.

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.

Pedestrian Dies Following Road Traffic Collision Ikn West Belfast
A female pedestrian in her 70s has tragically died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast on Saturday, 9th November. The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured pedestrians were taken to hospital.

A new report, from the Belfast-based Committee on the Administration of Justice (CAJ) has questioned the Police Ombudsman's independence from both the PSNI and the Northern Ireland Office. It has also raised concerns about the recruitment process, which led to the organisation's current boss, Al Hutchinson getting the post in 2007.

Justice Minister Announces Increase In NI Prison Staff
Justice Minister, Naomi Long, has announced an increase in the number of Prison staff in response to Northern Ireland's rising prisoner population. Since July 2021 the prison population has increased by over 500 prisoners and now stands at 1,920.
