Wife found guilty of Gault murder
In Belfast Crown Court today, a woman has been convicted of the murder of her husband in May 2000.
Lesley Ann Gault, a 35-year-old mother of triplets, was found guilty of the murder of Paul Gault by a majority verdict. The jury had been considering their verdict since Tuesday.
Paul Gault, 33, was found bludgeoned to death in an upstairs bedroom of his home in Audley Avenue, Lisburn, in May 2000. The body was found by Lesley Gault and a neighbour. The scene initially indicated that Mr Gault had been killed after disturbing a burglar.
However, the jury accepted the prosecution's argument that Lesley Gault had conspired with her then lover Neil Graham to murder Mr Gault.
Graham, a fireman from The Granary in Ballygowan, was convicted of murder and sentenced last December to serve at least 20 years over the murder.
Mrs Gault's sentencing will be carried out at a later date.

Pharmacist Sentenced For Drug Offences
A 27-year-old pharmacist from Belfast has been sentenced to 180 hours of community service for unlawfully possessing and stealing controlled prescription drugs. Adam Hanna pleaded guilty to charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and the Theft Act 1969. The offences took place at a North Belfast pharmacy between January and March 2024.
