Rainfall Floods Sydenham Bypass
Drivers have been advised to avoid the Sydenham bypass in east Belfast.
Following severe rainfall, the bypass has flooded.
The city bound lane is worst affected, between the Tillysburn junction and Dee Street.
Long delays have ensued for traffic in both directions.
The M3 off-slip to the bypass is also flooded.
The Department for Regional Development has a 24 hour flooding incident line on 0300 2000 100, for people whose homes or businesses have been waterlogged in the downpour.

The iconic Sydenham Bypass is to be upgraded. The NI Transport Minister, Conor Murphy has announced the improvements to the A2 Sydenham Bypass, in east Belfast. The Minister confirmed that on line widening of the existing Sydenham Bypass is the preferred option.

Five officers hurt in hit-and-run incident
Five police officers have been injured during a hit-and-run incident in west Belfast on Thursday. One sustained ankle injuries and a suspected broken thumb when he was hit by the car at Glen Road near the Monagh bypass early this morning. Four other officers sustained minor injuries in the incident.
