No Jail Time For Sean Quinn
Businessman Sean Quinn has been spared jail after being found guilty of contempt on Tuesday after hiding €500 million property portfolio from the former Anglo Irish Bank.
At the High Court in Dublin, his son Sean and nephew Peter Darragh Quinn were found to be dishonest over attempts to move his assets and hide them from the rebranded zombie bank.
Justice Elizabeth Dunne said: "I find it disappointing, at even this late stage, there seems to be no acknowledgment of the wrongdoing that has been done by the respondents in relation to specific matters that have been done."
She continued: "I've no doubt the first function of the court is to consider coercion and then after there's a response to coercive orders there may be an issue in relation to punitive measures. It will depend on the degree of cooperation in relation to your clients."

The High Court in Dublin has ruled that the family of Fermanagh-born businessman Sean Quinn can continue with their legal battle. Mr Quinn’s wife and five children are challenging the demands made by the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC) to repay loans totalling €2.3 billion.

Sean Quinn has been sentenced to nine weeks in jail for contempt of court. The sentencing sees the culmination of a high-profile legal battle between the Quinns and bailed-out bank Anglo Irish over claims of asset-stripping by the former billionaire. Protesters Support Jailed Sean Quinn
A protest blockade in support of Sean Quinn is taking place in Derrylin in County Fermanagh. Campaigners have demanded the jailed billionaire be released. Tractors are thought to be blocking a road, while it has also been reported a lorry is parked across the entrance to the Quinn Glass factory.

Arson Attack On Quinn Windfarm
An arson attack has been carried out at Quinn Group premises in Derrylin, County Fermanagh. The incident occurred yesterday evening between 18:00 and 19:00 when an electrical substation at a windfarm was set on fire. No-one was injured but the substation is thought to have been severely damaged.
