Peter Darragh Quinn 'Will Stay In NI' To Avoid Jail
Peter Darragh Quinn's father has said his son will not return to the Irish Republic, where a warrant is out for his arrest, because he has no chance of getting "fair play or justice".
Peter Darragh was sentenced to jail in his absence on July 20 after failing to turn up at the Dublin court where his cousin, Sean Quinn Jr was sentenced to prison for contempt of court.
He has since been seen watching Gaelic football games in public in Northern Ireland and his father, Peter Quinn Senior, said he will not return to the Republic.
Last month an Irish judge ruled that Peter Darragh Quinn along with Sean Quinn Sr and his son Sean Quinn Jr were in contempt of court after putting millions of pounds worth of international property beyond the reach of the former Anglo Irish Bank.
Peter Quinn Sr told the Impartial Reporter newspaper that the family supports his son’s decision to stay in Northern Ireland.
He said he believes there is a conspiracy against the family in the Irish Republic, and admitted his son was "under a lot of pressure".
The former Anglo Irish Bank was bailed out by Irish taxpayers and is now controlled by the Irish Banking Resolution Company (IBRC).
The IBRC claims the Quinns owe it about £2bn and is trying to recover the money from their property assets on behalf of Irish taxpayers.
Sean Quinn Jr is serving an indefinite sentence in Dublin's Mountjoy Prison.
His father avoided jail but must co-operate with the IBRC within three months.

Arson Attack On Quinn Windfarm
An arson attack has been carried out at Quinn Group premises in Derrylin, County Fermanagh. The incident occurred yesterday evening between 18:00 and 19:00 when an electrical substation at a windfarm was set on fire. No-one was injured but the substation is thought to have been severely damaged.

Sean Quinn Released From Prison
Businessman Sean Quinn Snr has been released from prison after serving his sentence for contempt of court. The 66-year-old served nine weeks in Mountjoy Prison in Dublin. He had been released temporarily to spend Christmas with his family in Ballyconnell, County Cavan.
