Offshore Company Axes Jobs
Around 150 jobs in Aberdeen and Dundee have been axed after an offshore services company ceased trading. Oceanteam Power and Umbilical has been forced to close when the firm's holding company withdrew its financial support. Staff are based in Aberdeen, at workshops in Dundee and offshore.

Jobs Boost As UK Attracts Increased Overseas Investment
Strong inward investment into the UK economy created or secured more than 112,000 jobs in 2011/12, a rise of 19 per cent on the preceding year, new figures showed today. The figures announced by Business Secretary Vince Cable indicate that companies investing in the UK are continuing to succeed, laying the foundations for growth across the country.

Irish Republic's Businesses 'To Shed Jobs'
A third of Irish businesses will be shedding jobs in 2012, according to an interest group for small and medium sized business owners. Reacting to the increase in the live register figures for 2010, published on Thursday, the Irish Small & Medium Enterprises Association (ISME), called for "job creation and retention" to be given focus in 2011.
