200 jobs to be created following DIY chain's investment
A €7 million expansion programme by DIY chain Woodie's is to create 200 new jobs in Cavan, Carlow, Clonmel and Limerick.
The expansion plan by the company means that Woodie's will now have 18 stores open across the Republic of Ireland.
The announcement follows news that the company's turnover grew by 15% to over €98m last year with further aims in increasing its network to 20 stores within the next two years.

Tesco To Recruit 200 New Staff
Tesco has announced that it is recruiting over 200 new staff for its new store which will open in Newry on 6 June 2013. The announcement was welcomed today by Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry as recruitment opened for the new store. The Minister described the jobs boost as good news for jobseekers in the Newry area.

200 jobs 'at risk' at Budget DIY stores
Around 200 members of staff at the five Budget DIY stores throughout Northern Ireland could be at risk after the company anounced that it had gone into administration. PricewaterhouseCoopers have been appointed as administrators, and are expected to make an announcement on the situation later today.

Belfast-based Purepipe is investing £250,000 and creating six new jobs as part of plans to boost sales in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. Invest Northern Ireland has offered the company £45,000 towards its expansion which involves investing in new state-of-the-art specialised pipe manufacturing equipment needed to target new business.

Boots Expansion To Create Jobs
High-street pharmaceutical giant Boots is to open at least five new stores in Ireland this year, according to a newspaper report. The expansion will help create more than 150 jobs, says the Irish Independent. Building workers will also benefit as new shops are constructed and fitted out.
