NI Athletes Honoured At Stormont Reception

Coleraine rower Alan Campbell has already broken his Olympic bronze medal and had to stick it back together with Superglue.

He made the embarrassing admission to journalists last night at Stormont, when Olympians and Paralympians were honoured with a special event.

The reception, hosted by the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure, was for the Ireland and GB teams together.

Northern Ireland athletes across the two teams won five gold medals, two silver and five bronze medals in total at London 2012.

Knife-Bearing Burglars Ransack Pensioners' House

Two women in their 80s have been left badly shaken but not injured by a burglary at their home in the Glen area of Londonderry.

Burglars armed with a knife demanded money before slashing furniture, at about 2am today.

Pheasants Stolen From Gun Club

More than 50 pheasants have been stolen from a gun club near Strabane.

It is thought that thieves broke in to club grounds on the Gortmellon Road in Cullion and stole the birds at some point between August 28 and 30.

Police would like anyone with information to contact them.

SF Calls For Action On NI Mental Health Services
