100 Call Centre Jobs For Derry
Nearly one hundred jobs are to be created at a call centre in Londonderry.
Firstsource is recruiting 96 people to handle calls for Sky.
The company already employs 1,200 people in Derry and 800 in Belfast and recently took over two centres in the Republic of Ireland.
The General Manager of Operations with the company Mickey Rooney says the Derry base is seen by the company as a centre of excellence.
"There is a very good work ethic among the population in Derry and the customer base of the clients we have is continuing to grow so they have more customers that need serviced."
Mother Charged With Supplying Drugs To Jailed Son
A mother has appeared in court in Londonderry charged with supplying her son with drugs while he was in Magilligan prison.
42-year-old Brenda Reddy, from Moore Street was released on bail until next month.
A police officer told the court the drugs had a street value of £200 but their prison value was £2,000.
Ms Reddy faces six charges including possessing and intending to supply ecstasy, and possessing and intending to supply cannabis.
A police officer told District Judge Barney McElholm that he believed he could connect the defendant to the charges.
Emmy Success For Local Game Of Thrones Sound Crew
A sound production crew from Northern Ireland has won a Creative Arts Emmy for their work on Game of Thrones in Los Angeles this weekend.
Ronan Hill from Ballycastle and Mervyn Moore from Coleraine were part of the team that won the Outstanding Sound Mixing category for a TV drama series.
Most of the scenes for the HBO programme are filmed in Belfast.
The Creative Arts Emmy Awards recognise arts, craft and technical work on television shows.
Game of Thrones won a total of six Emmy Awards at the show this year.

Lawyer considers client's 'overexposure'
The lawyer of a senior north Belfast loyalist has warned that he may report the Chief Constable, Sir Hugh Orde, and an unnamed Sunday newspaper editor to the Attorney General for over exposure of his client. Ihab Shoukri, from Alliance Road, was today remanded on continuing bail charged two counts of being a member of the UDA/UFF.
