PSNI Apologies For Storming Wrong House In Drug Raid
The PSNI have apologised after they targeted the wrong house in a drugs raid.
Officers battered down the front door of a house belonging to two 75-year-old pensioners in Lurgan around 10:00am on Thursday.
It is understood that officers had been instructed to search a house a short distance away but had read the address incorrectly.
Speaking on Radio Ulster’s Nolan show the pensioners son said: "They had stormed into the house and were in the hallway. The lead police officer then seemingly took a look at my father and, at that stage, I think they realised that they had made a mistake.”
"They had been given the correct information but had read the street address or the street name incorrectly, and the address that they should have been at was about 300 yards away from my parents' house".
The PSNI later sent a letter of apology and a bunch of flowers to the couple but their son said he was not interested in apologies and wanted an explanation.

Environment Minister Mark H Durkan has recommended planning approval to redevelop a former PSNI station in North Belfast. The 0.7-hectare site, located on North Street between the Westlink and Clifton House in the city, would be transformed for housing.

Belfast Hotel Plan Dropped: Report
A government-supported plan to build a hotel in central Belfast has been scrapped, the BBC has reported. Back in 2007, the Department for Social Development appointed Tullymore House Ltd as preferred developer for Armagh House in the city’s Ormeau Avenue, with plans to convert the building into an upmarket hotel.
