'Grab All The Opportunities You Can'
An animal sciences student who is just back from a year's work experience in Australia and New Zealand has popped in to her old school to tell the sixth formers about university life.
Niamh Molloy, a final year student at Harper Adams University College, spoke to ninety pupils in St Patrick’s College in Maghera, telling them to "work hard and play hard".
She told them to "grab all the opportunities you can at university" including learning a language or extending your GCSE into technical terminology.
She also spoke about work experience, which she said was a factor in Harper Adams being third out of all 140 UK universities for the employability of its graduates.
She said: "There are exciting opportunities in the food industry from basic agricultural production, veterinary nursing, animals, agricultural engineering and other subjects supporting primary production through food processing and technology to food marketing - ....from field to fork."

Work Underway For Free Hospital Parking In Northern Ireland
Work has begun at several hospital sites across Northern Ireland as part of the preparations for the introduction of free car parking in May 2026. Health and Social Care Trusts have been actively preparing for the implementation of a new traffic management system since the Hospital Parking Charges Act was passed in 2022.

SF Calls For Action On NI Mental Health Services
Sinn Féin has called for more to be done to improve mental health services across the north of Ireland. The party's mental health spokesperson, MLA Órlaithí Flynn, made the call after the release of the Registrar General's 2023 Annual Report which has highlighted an increase in deaths by suicide in 2023.
