Wrightbus To Build 600 New Buses
Enterprise Minister, Arlene Foster has welcomed reports that a contract for Ballymena-based Wrightbus to build 600 new London buses looks likely to be announced in the coming weeks.
The Minister said: "The Transport for London Board today approved an order for 600 new buses for London and while we are still waiting for final confirmation that the contract will be signed, I am confident that Wrightbus will be successful.
"This is further great news for a local company which only one month ago secured a new £41million contract to supply 550 double deck bus kits to SBS Transit for assembly in Singapore.
"Over the years, Invest NI has worked closely with Wrightbus to support its research and development work into the design of new products and has offered significant investment to help the company expand.
"The Wright Group's continuing success in winning major contracts reflects the company's focus on innovation and export marketing which has resulted in it becoming a significant player across a range of international markets."
