Man beaten with iron bar at home
A man has been beaten with an iron bar at his home in Markethill, Co Armagh.
The man, who is believed to be in his 60's, was asleep with his wife when three men burst into his bedroom and struck him on the head.
They then ransacked the house and made off with a sum of money.
The man was treated for his injuries, although they are not thought to be serious.
Police are appealing for anyone with any information about the attack, which took place at around 12.30am on Wednesday, to contact them.

An investigation has launched after a man was attacked by a gang armed with an armed bar in L'Derry. The incident happened at an alleyway in the Cooke Street/Corporation Street area just after 10pm on Friday, 07 September. The victim sustained a fractured eye socket and bruising to his body.
