Package Containing Bullets Sent To NI Politicians
Letters containing bullets have been sent to five NI politicians.
Alliance Party David Ford MLA and MP Naomi Long and Geraldine Mulvenna were named on the package which was delivered to the Parliament buildings on Wednesday.
The parcel was also sent to Sinn Fein's Gerry Kelly and Alex Maskey.
An assembly spokesperson said: "A package was delivered to Parliament Buildings on Wednesday and intercepted by security staff. In line with standard procedures, the package has been passed to the PSNI."
SF MLA Gerry Kelly said: "Following recent death threats against party members including myself this is obviously a step up in the attempt to intimidate elected representatives.
"It is obviously connected to the current protests against the democratic decision taken at Belfast City Council. These protests are being orchestrated by loyalist paramilitaries and attended by members of the two main unionist parties.
"This will not deflect Sinn Féin from our work of seeking parity of esteem when it comes to reflecting people’s Irishness and Britishness.
"There were no violent protests in Lisburn and elsewhere when the decision to go for designated days had the support of unionists.
"Obviously protestors have been wound up prior to the decision in Belfast and those that have kept up the tension need to reflect on what they have created."

Suspicious Package Found At Royal Mail 'Nothing Harmful'
A suspicious package found at the Royal Mail sorting office on Newtownabbey is "nothing harmful", police have confirmed. Police, the Northern Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and Army bomb disposal experts were called to the scene at Enterprise Way in Mallusk after a package containing white powder was discovered.

Funding Secured For Voluntary Teacher Redundancies
Funding has been found for 30 voluntary redundancies, Education Minister John O'Dowd has announced. It follows protests held earlier this week over the low number of voluntary redundancies that the minister had approved. Previously 46 voluntary redundancies had been allowed but only in schools that where due to close or that were being amalgamated.
