Viable Pipe Bomb Found In Carryduff
Police have confirmed the device at the centre of a security alert in Carryduff on Saturday night was a viable pipe bomb.
A suspicious object was discovered at flats at Doon Park and a number of homes were evacuated.
Army experts attended the scene and made the device safe.
Alliance Cllr Geraldine Rice said: "Lives were put at risk by whoever is responsible for this pipe bomb. Anybody passing close by could have been severely injured or worse if it detonated.
"The people who left this bomb in such a residential area obviously have no regard for the consequences of their actions. There can be no justification for the actions of such a callous group of individuals.
"I would urge anybody with any information about this incident to contact the police."

Viable Pipe Bomb Found In North Belfast
A viable pipe bomb has been found in north Belfast, police have confirmed. Police and army bomb experts discovered the device in the garden of a house in Shore Crescent on Monday. The pipe bomb has been removed for further examination. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

'Viable Pipe Bomb Type Device' In L'Derry Security Alert
Police have declared a security alert in Londonderry was the result of a "viable pipe bomb type device". The alert began with reports of a "loud bang" outside a house in Bann Drive at about 11.15pm on Tuesday, 17 July. It is understood that a man and woman were in the house at the time of the incident but escaped uninjured.

A viable pipe bomb device has been found under a bridge following a security alert in Newtownabbey. The device was discovered at Whitehouse Park at approximately 8.50pm on Saturday. A number of homes were evacuated while the device was examined. All residents returned to their homes at around 1pm on Sunday.

Flats damaged in overnight pipe bomb attacks
A number of flats have been damaged in overnight pipe bomb attacks in Co Antrim. In the first incident devices were thrown at the front doors of two flats in Rathcoole Drive, Newtownabbey just after 10pm. A short time later another device exploded at a ground floor flat in Carnbrook Drive, Antrim, causing damage to a bedroom.

Pipe Bomb Removed As City Alerts Continue
A 'viable device' thought to be a pipe bomb has been taken away for examination after it was found during a security alert close to the Alexandra Bar on York Road. It meant traffic being diverted this morning and some residents being moved from their homes as Army bomb experts dealt with the incident.
