Man Denies Murdering Woman Over 25 Years Ago

A man has denied murdering a woman in her home in Belfast over 25 years ago.

Samuel Dunwoody, 52, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Margaret Telford, who was strangled in her house in Twaddell Avenue, in February 1988.

Dunwoody, originally from Belfast, however currently has an address in Birmingham, was arrested after new evidence emerged.

The trial has been set for 10 June and could last up to two weeks.

Army Apologise For Shooting Man 40 Years Ago
The Chief of the General Staff of the British Army has officially apologised to the family of a man shot dead by a soldier in Londonderry 40 years ago. Billy McGreanery, 41, was killed by a member of the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards in 1971 as he walked past an army observation post.
