Motorists Reminded Of Belfast Traffic Changes
Motorists have been reminded of traffic management changes in and around Belfast city centre.
Following the introduction of a northbound bus lane in Great Victoria Street last week, a second section of bus lane will become operational on Fisherwick Place on Thursday 2 May, according to the Department for Regional Development.
This bus lane, which approaches Wellington Place, will be marked and delineated with solid white lines and fully surfaced in red to highlight its presence in the middle of the road.
As with all other bus lanes in the city centre it will operate from 07:00 to 19:00, Monday to Saturday.
Motorists will be restricted to one general traffic lane northbound and one general traffic lane into Wellington Place either side of the new bus lane.
The Department is reminding motorists of the alternative northbound route via Hope Street, Sandy Row, Durham Street and College Square North.
A spokesman from the Department for Regional Development’s Road Service said: "Motorists should be aware of the new lane arrangements in Howard Street when approaching Fisherwick Place. Those drivers turning right into Fisherwick Place should do so from the right hand lane only. Motorists are asked to be patient and allow extra time for their journey until they are familiar with the new arrangements."

Work Begins On Phase Two Of City's New Bus Lanes
Motorists have been warned to expect delays if travelling through Belfast city centre from Monday as a new phase of road works begins. Part of the Belfast On The Move scheme this latest phase is expected to take up to 12 weeks to complete. Work will begin at 19.00 on Monday on Grosvenor Road and College Avenue, with overnight works on both streets.

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.
