Bomb Found In Hedgerow In Kells

A bomb has been discovered in a hedgerow in Kells, Co Antrim.

The device was found in a plastic bag in a lane just off the Tildarg Road on Thursday afternoon.

Bomb experts made the device safe. Four houses also had to be evacuated.

The bomb has been taken for forensic examination.

Four Arrested Following Disorder In South Belfast
Four men have been arrested following public disorder incidents in the university area of south Belfast on Thursday, November 14th. Police responded to a number of offences, including resisting and obstructing police, and assault on police. Three men, aged 18, 20, and 21, have been charged and are due to appear in court in December.

Pipe Bomb Found Near Kells
A pipe bomb has been found by police on the Tildarg Road near Kells in County Antrim. The bomb was found wrapped in a plastic bag shortly before 21:00 on Wednesday evening. It was the second device to be discovered on the same road in a week. Robin Swann, Ulster Unionist MLA for North Antrim, has condemned those responsible for planting the device.

Suspect package declared a hoax
A suspect device found in north Belfast on Friday has been declared a hoax. The package was discovered at a telephone control box on Glenview Street. Army bomb experts were immediately called in and the area between Old Park Road and Park View Court was immediately sealed off. It has since been reopened.
