Cat killed in 'horrific' mutilation
Residents in north Belfast have expressed their disgust after a pet cat was mutilated in the driveway of its owner's home.
The one-year-old animal was found at its owner's Deerpark Road home at around 8.30am yesterday morning with all four of the legs cut off.
Police have appealed for anyone with information on the incident to contact them on 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Four Arrested Following Disorder In South Belfast
Four men have been arrested following public disorder incidents in the university area of south Belfast on Thursday, November 14th. Police responded to a number of offences, including resisting and obstructing police, and assault on police. Three men, aged 18, 20, and 21, have been charged and are due to appear in court in December.

Investigation Launched Following Burglary In North Belfast
Police are appealing for information following a burglary at a property in north Belfast. The incident happened in the Lisdarragh Park area on Monday afternoon, 24 October. The suspects disturbed the elderly home owner who was in the property at the time. They made off and no items are believed to have been stolen.

Minister Supports Regenerated Communities
Stormont Housing Minister Margaret Ritchie has outlined plans to support owner occupiers remaining in their communities once regeneration work has been completed. The Minister said she wants to ensure that communities stay together as much as possible after regeneration takes place.

USPCA reveal increase in animal cruelty
The Ulster Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (USPCA) has revealed that the number of acts of cruelty to animals in Northern Ireland is rising. The figures followed the news of the mutilation of a family's cat in north Belfast. The pet had all four of its leg's cut off and left in the driveway of the owner's home on Wednesday.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of Nelson Cheung
A 24-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of Nelson Cheung. The 65-year-old restaurant owner died following an assault on the Caddy Road in Randalstown on 8 January. His wife was also injured when Mr Cheung's car was forced off the road. The man was arrested in Antrim on Tuesday.
