Bombardier To Carry Out R&D Project
Alliance East Belfast MP Naomi Long has welcomed the decision by the Government and the Executive to approve a business case for a £120m Research and Development (R&D) project at Bombardier Aerospace in Belfast.
It is believed that this project will create more than 230 jobs.
The announcement was made in a progress report on the Government and NI Executive economic package 'Building a Prosperous and United Community'.
Naomi Long MP said: "This is fantastic news that the business case for this R&D project has been approved. It is another vote of confidence in the highly skilled and dedicated workforce at the East Belfast factory.
"This project will help boost the East Belfast and wider Northern Ireland economy. The jobs that will be created are exactly the kind of highly skilled, value-added jobs which Northern Ireland needs to sustain and grow if we are to rebalance our economy.
"Bombardier are continuing Belfast's proud industrial heritage and this project shows the company's commitment to their East Belfast site."

Robinson Welcomes Connswater Parkway
A multi-million pound inner city linear parkway project has received a fillip with news that the construction contracts for the innovative Connswater Community Greenway have now been awarded. New bridges, riverside walkways and cycleways are to be built along the banks of the Connswater, Knock and Loop rivers in east Belfast as part of the scheme.

Connswater Contract Dispute Played Down
A major contract for east Belfast that promises a picturesque, riverside linear park as well as enhanced flood protection is on track for completion - despite fears being expressed earlier this week over a dispute between the contractors and one of the sponsors.

There's a flood of problems today threatening to swamp an imaginative plan to build a £21m linear park in east Belfast - with local politicians keen to see a deal done to sort them out. It is being built to follow the course of the Knock, Connswater and Loop rivers and is backed by two Stormont Departments and Belfast City Council.
