Men Arrested Over Attempted Police Murder
Two men have been arrested by detectives investigating the attempted murder of police officers in west Belfast.
Shots were fired at three officers as they attended a suspected hoax burglary report in the Foxes Glen area of Dunmurry on 16 May.
As the officers got out of their car, they were shot.
Witnesses said the officers dived for cover and crawled on the ground until they reached their own vehicle before leaving. No-one was hurt but children had been playing in the area.
Two men aged 20 and 21 were arrested in Lisburn on Friday morning.
40 Jobs Created In New Furniture Shop
Up to 40 new jobs are being created at a new furniture shop on Belfast's Boucher Road.
The development is being built on the former site of the Fulton's furniture store.
An English consortium said it is investing several million pounds in the site, which will be called 'Belfast's Furniture Mall'.
It is expected to open over the next few weeks.
City Hall To Light Up For Christmas
The dome of Belfast's City Hall is to be lit up on Christmas Eve.
The dome will turn into a flashing red siren for five minutes, every hour on the hour, as the countdown to Christmas morning begins.
It has also been revealed that the building’s dome will help ring in the New Year with a 'light countdown' that will give a one minute warning to midnight with flashing domes and then flash for the 10 second countdown. The building will then be lit up in vibrant rainbow colours for the first 10 minutes of 2014.
Translink Boss To Leave Company
Translink chief executive Catherine Mason is to leave her position as head of the public transport provider to take up a post with the Air Traffic Management Services (NATS).
Ms Mason joined Translink in 2008 and is reported to have been one of the highest paid public servants in the UK, on a salary of about £200,000.
Translink has confirmed that Mrs Mason is to take up a position with NATS in March next year.

The research carried out by the Independent Television Commission (ITC) and Broadcasting Standards Commission (BSC) found this was the lowest dissatisfaction rate in the UK.
