39 Police Officers Internally Investigated For Alleged Sexual Misconduct
Thirty nine police officers have been internally investigated for alleged sexual misconduct in the last five years, according to information released by the PSNI
The information, released under a Freedom of Information request, revealed that four complaints have been upheld, with two officers being dismissed. However, according to reports, the PSNI have said that this figure does not account for "matters which are still ongoing", which "may yet result in an allegation being upheld, and a formal sanction being administered".
According to a report by the Belfast Telegraph, four officers were investigated in 2016/17, five were investigated in 2017/18, seven in 2018/19, 13 were investigated in 2019/20 and 10 in 2020/21.
Speaking to BBC News NI, Deputy Chief Constable Mark Hamilton said that these allegations are a "key priority" for the police service and that they are "committed to continuously reviewing and improving our approach to investigations".

Police Officers Investigated For Corruption, But Cookstown Still Safe
Two PSNI officers in the Cookstown area are being investigated for alleged corruption. The Tyrone Courier newspaper reported that the officers have been arrested, released on bail and taken off police duties. Five other officers from the same team have been moved to other duties.

Two Officers Disciplined Over L'Derry Assault Investigation
Two police officers have been disciplined for serious failings in the way PSNI investigated an assault which happened in a pub in L'Derry in June last year, according to the Police Ombudsman. The victim reported the incident to police and provided them with contact details for himself and a witness.

PSNI Rehiring To Be Investigated
The PSNI’s hiring of retired officers as civilian staff on temporary contracts is to be investigated. The Audit Office has made the move to investigate after a BBC report revealed that hundreds of retired police officers have been re-employed. It is understood that these officers would have left the service with generous redundancy packages.
