Man Arrested Over Victoria Square Bomb

A man has been arrested in relation to a bomb attack in Belfast city centre six weeks ago.

On Wednesday, police confirmed that a 27-year-old man had been arrested in connection with bombing. He has been taken to Antrim police station for questioning.

On 24 November 2013, a man's car was hijacked by three masked men in the Ardoyne area. They ordered him to take a 130lb device in the back of his vehicle to the city's Victoria Square. The man drove for a while but abandoned his car in Victoria Street, close to the access to Victoria Square, where he then ran to Musgrave police station to alert officers.

As army bomb experts prepared to examine the vehicle, the primed device exploded.

No one was injured in the incident.
