Dog Rescued Following Abuse Video

The USPCA has confirmed that a collie dog which was caught being abused on CCTV footage has been rescued.

More than 16,000 people viewed the footage as it circulated on social networking site Facebook. The video shows a man abusing a collie dog by kicking it and then dragging it away. The USPCA has worked with the police by offering a reward of £500 for any information leading to the prosecution of those involved in the abuse.

On Wednesday, police said a 43-year-old had been arrested and was helping with enquiries. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

In a statement, the USPCA said that Bessie, the rescued collie dog, had been examined by a vet and is in "good health". She has now been rehomed.
