Arts Council Seeks New Board Member
Arts Minister Carál Ní Chuilín is seeking to appoint a new Board Member to the Arts Council of NI.
Expressions of interest are welcome from applicants with an interest in serving the arts sector, including individuals who have not previously held positions in this area.
Minister Ní Chuilín said: "I hope that there is a high level of interest from members of the public with the required skills and experience. This is an opportunity to join the Arts Council at a challenging and exciting time and to ensure that Arts remains at the heart of society's social, economic and creative life."
She continued: "I would also encourage members of ethnic minorities, people with a disability and women to apply for this position so that we have a board which is representative of our diverse society."

New Pedestrian Crossing For Castlederg
Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has said work is to begin on a £25,000 scheme to provide a pedestrian crossing at William Street, Castlederg.
Work to provide a new Pedestrian User Friendly Intelligent (PUFFIN) Crossing will begin on Thursday 16 January and is expected to be completed within one week.
The new crossing will provide a safer crossing for shoppers on William Street within the town where many pedestrians currently experience difficulty crossing the street.
Minister Kennedy said: "These new Puffins will deliver enhanced pedestrian safety and traffic flow features. Puffin Crossings are safer for pedestrians at some locations. They are of particular benefit to more vulnerable road users such as children, the elderly and people with disabilities.
"One of the many benefits of Puffin Crossings is that the time provided for pedestrians to cross the road is managed using sensors that detect people still on the crossing.
"Drivers will also benefit. Should a pedestrian push the button and move away, the demand for a traffic light change is cancelled, so reducing driver delays."
Drugs Seized In Enniskillen
Police in Enniskillen have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with the seizure of drugs.
Suspected cannabis with an estimated street value of £160,000 was recovered from a property in the Wellington Road area of Enniskillen earlier this week. A follow-up search in the Old Rosorry Road, also in Enniskillen, resulted in drugs paraphernalia also being seized.
During a further search of a house in Benburb Street, Belfast, suspected herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of £10,000 and drugs equipment was also seized.
Inspector Roy Robinson, Sector Commander, Enniskillen, said: "In continuing our commitment in tackling drug crime, the seizures which took place yesterday were successful in taking these drugs off the streets.
"These seizures show our commitment to tackling the issue of drugs on our streets. We are determined to work with the communities and partner agencies to bring people before the courts.
"Drugs remains a problem throughout Northern Ireland, and despite drug related fatalities and repeated warnings regarding the dangers, there remain those that insist in taking illegal drugs."
