Over Two Hundred Jobs Created By Pharmaceutical And Research Firms
An additional 40 jobs are to be created in Ringaskiddy, Co Cork by US pharmaceutical company BioMarin.
The company, which manufactures treatments for rare diseases, had recently announced its plan to invest €37 million ($50m) in a new plant in county Cork, with the creation of 100 jobs and have said that there is the potential to create many more jobs.
Separately a new research centre being established at the Tyndall Institute in Cork city, could create up to 200 jobs.
€31m is being invested in a cutting-edge research project to develop tiny photonic sensors used in medical devices and in the aerospace industry.
100 researchers from universities and ITs in Cork and Dublin will work on 30 projects at the Irish Photonic Integration Centre.

Jobs Boost At Maynooth
More than 150 jobs are set to be created in Co Kildare during the construction of a new research building at NUI Maynooth. Around €15m is being invested in the state-of-the-art facility. The construction posts will be rolled out over the next year.
