Appeal Over Newry Tiger Kidnapping
Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following a tiger kidnapping in the South Down area.
The incident began at about 20:30 on Sunday 2 March, when a number of males forced entry to a house in Smalls Road, Warrenpoint.
A 57-year-old woman was ordered to visit a jewellery shop in Warrenpoint and retrieve a number of items.
A 53-year-old man and 20-year-old woman were held captive during the ordeal. All three victims were then abandoned in a field in the Mayobridge area.
The kidnappers made off from the area in an unknown vehicle.
Police said the family have been left shaken and distressed by their ordeal.
Detectives are appealing to anyone in the Warrenpoint/Burren and Mayobridge areas who noticed any type of suspicious activity, including cars or vehicles acting in a suspicious way, between 19:30 and 22:00 to contact them immediately at Ardmore Police Station on 0845 600 8000.

Man Extradited From US Over Historical Child Sex Abuse
A 68-year-old man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for a series of indecent assaults on a child in the 1970s. Damien Desmond Anderson, originally from L'Derry, was extradited from the US to face justice. He was convicted of 12 counts of indecent assault against a female who was 11 years old at the time of the abuse.

Investigation Launched Following Sudden Death In Newry
Police have launched an investigation following the sudden death of a man in Newry. The man, aged in his 30s, was found in a property in the Old Warrenpoint Road area just before 9.30am on Sunday, 03 December. A post mortem examination is to be carried out to determine the cause of death.

Detectives have renewed an appeal for information following a deliberate arson attack at a vacant property in the Weaver's Grange area of Newtownards. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 17 November, 2023. Police and firefighters were called to the scene at around 12:40am.
