Boiling Water Thrown Over Three-Year-Old

A three-year-old girl has suffered minor burns after water from a boiling kettle was thrown over her.

Shortly after 7.30pm on Thursday, police said they received a report of an incident at Drumlin Grange in Ballyward, Co Down.

A 36-year-old man was also injured. He is understood to have suffered 10% burns to his body, mainly on his back, while the girl suffered minor burns to her face.

A man, aged 43, was arrested at the scene and is currently being questioned by detectives on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Workman injured in gas explosion
A man has been injured following a gas explosion at an industrial site in north Belfast. The workman was injured at a demolition site on Hillview Road in the Oldpark area on Friday when the gas cylinder exploded. He was taken to hospital suffering from facial and upper body burns, however it is not known how seriously he was injured.

Two men arrested following pensioner robbery
Two men have been arrested in connection to the robbery of a pensioner's home in Co Down yesterday. The 93-year-old man suffered cuts to his ear and an arm injury when he confronted two men who had climbed through a bedroom window at his Hillsborough home at around 8.45am on Tuesday. The robbers escaped with a sum of money.

Police Appeal After Man Is Killed In Road Crash
Police are appealing to witnesses following a fatal crash in Lisburn on Friday. Neil Graham, 24, died when his motorbike crashed with a car in the Woodland Park area. The female driver suffered minor injuries. Lisburn Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Dublin fire kills woman and injures four others
A 19-year-old woman has been killed and four others, including three children and one woman, have been injured in a house fire in Dublin. The blaze on Oranmore Road in Ballyfermot appears to have started at the back of the house and broke out at around midnight.

Woman Threatened At Knifepoint In North Belfast
Police are appealing for information after masked men broke into a house in north Belfast and threatened a woman at knifepoint. The incident happened at a property in the Thorndale Avenue area on Tuesday, 06 December. The woman was not injured.
