Accountancy Firm Creates 486 New Jobs
Almost 500 new jobs are to be created in Northern Ireland by an accountancy firm, it has been announced.
EY, formerly known as Ernst and Young, will create 486 jobs in Belfast.
The roles will be in various business consultancy fields, including auditing, and will be created over the next four years.
Invest NI is offering £3.2m to support the jobs announcement, while the Department for Employment and Learning will provide training support.
Commenting on the announcement, Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster said: "Today's announcement will provide excellent employment opportunities across a range of levels in a wide variety of roles including, advisory and assurance specialists, comprising of a mobile and static workforce.
"In addition, EY will also be seeking people in human resources, finance and administration within its core business services."
Mike McKerr, of EY Ireland, added: "We are delighted to bring this investment to Belfast which will further enhance our current service offering to clients.
"We have been working closely with Invest Northern Ireland for some time on this project and their support and advice has been instrumental in EYs decision to locate this project in Belfast."
EY currently employs almost 1,500 people across the island of Ireland.

Fujitsu cuts 4,500 jobs worldwide
Japanese electronics giant Fujitsu is set to cut a further 4,500 jobs worldwide by the end of March next year. While around 4,000 of the losses will come from plants outside Japan it is not known whether Fujitsu facilities in Northern Ireland will be affected by the decision.

Bangor Firm Creates 130 New Jobs
A total of 130 jobs have been created after a Bangor firm scooped a £19.5m PPE contract with Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland (HSCNI). The major new contract will see Denroy manufacture and supply FFP3 masks to HSCNI from its new manufacturing facility in Bangor.
