Investigation Into Armed Robbery, Andersonstown
Detectives at Woodbourne CID are investigating an armed robbery at a shopping centre in Andersonstown, Belfast yesterday.
It was reported that at around 15:00, a man entered a currency exchange business, threatened a female employee with a handgun and demanded money.
The robber then forced the employee to open the till and hand over a large sum of cash, which he placed in a bag before making off.
Police have described the thief as in his 40s or 50s and approximately 5' 7" tall. It is believed the man may have been dressed as a painter, wearing white overalls, a dust mask and carrying a tin of paint.
Anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the robbery or who can identify the male involved is asked to contact police on the new non-emergency number 101.

A business premises on University Road in the south of the city was targeted between 7pm and 7.30 on Monday 15 April. The armed male entered the shop and demanded money from a member of staff while threatening them with a claw hammer.

Shop employee 'badly shaken' following armed robbery
A shop employee has been left badly shaken following a robbery in Belfast city centre on Saturday. The female member of staff had been in a rear storage area of the Iceland store in Castle Street when an armed man approached her via a rear door, and ordered her to take him to a cash room where she was forced to open a safe.

L'Derry Shop Targeted In Armed Robbery
Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager robbed a newsagents in L'Derry while armed with a butcher's knife. The incident was reported shortly after 10.20am on Sunday 17 February. A business in Blucher Street was targeted. The culprit demanded money from the till before fleeing the scene with a sum of cash.
