100 Jobs Offered To DVA Coleraine Staff
Up to 100 jobs could be offered to staff in DVA Coleraine, following the decision to centralise vehicle registration and licensing services in Swansea.
Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland said: "I have arranged for officials to meet with their counterparts as soon as this Friday with a view to exploring potential areas of work that could support up to 100 posts on a short term basis through to December this year which would be located in Coleraine.
"The staff affected by this decision are in a very real and very difficult position. I would hope to be in a position to provide the details of these opportunities within the next few weeks. The position in Coleraine is a priority for all Departments and one that I know all my Ministerial colleagues and I are committed in trying where possible to find solutions."

Ulster University Secures Almost £20m EU Funding
Ulster University has secured almost £20million of EU funding to lead three major UK and cross-border research projects. The funding was awarded through the European Union's INTERREG VA Programme. It will be used to help the university advance its research globally in personalised medicine, renewable energy and connected health technology.

Post Office staff to stage walkout
Further postal strikes will continue today with the expected half-day strike of counter staff at nine post offices. The nine post offices affected are in Newtownards, Bangor, Antrim, Coleraine, Londonderry, Lisburn and two in Belfast. The walkout will be the fifth in a continuing dispute over pay and conditions and will begin at 2.30pm.

Nine NI HMV Stores To Close
Nine HMV stores in Northern Ireland are to close as part of an operation which will see 66 stores UK-wide closed over the next two months. Administrators have revealed the shops due to shut in Northern Ireland include those on the Boucher Road and Forestside, Belfast.
