Stolen Car Set On Fire

A stolen car was driven 'erratically' before it was set alight, according to police.

At around 11.55pm on Sunday, a green Mazda was reported in the Beechmount area of west Belfast. A large number of youths are said to have been in the area at the time.

The vehicle, which is believed to have been stolen from the Inverary Drive area in the east of the city around 30 minutes earlier, was later set alight. The youths fled the scene and made their way towards the Clowney Street area.

Police have said inquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information or who noticed any suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact police on 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
