A man has been shot in the leg in west Belfast.

The incident occurred in the Ardmonagh Gardens in Turf Lodge at about 22:30 on Tuesday.

Police have said the man, reported to be in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Sinn Féin Councillor Janice Austin condemned the shooting.
