Police uncover cannabis stash

Police have recovered cannabis worth an estimated £20,000 during a planned search of a house in Co Armagh.

Three people were arrested during the search of the house in Houston Park, Lurgan.

A computer was also seized during the operation.

Elsewhere, police in Lisburn are appealing for information after a vehicle was stolen in Moira on Friday 18 July.

The white van, reg no. OCZ 1864, was making a delivery on Main Street when it was stolen at around 10.20am.

Parcels of clothing and electrical equipment, worth a substantial sum of money, were in the van at the time and have not yet been recovered.

Man questioned about 1988 murder
A man has been arrested in connection with police inquiries into a murder in 1988. The body of Lily Smyth, 66, was found in her flat at Moveen House in Dunmurry on October 9, 1988. The pensioner had been strangled. A police spokesperson said that a 43-year-old man had been arrested and is being questioned at Antrim Police Station.

Two People Arrested Over Social Media Posts In Randalstown
Two people have been arrested in connection with social media posts in Randalstown, Co Antrim. The posts are believed to have been made as a band parade was taking place in the town. A 35-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman have been detained in police custody on suspicion of a number of offences.
