UUP Reports £94,000 Deficit
The Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) has reported a deficit of £94,000 for last year, which the party says is due to a fall in the value of its shares in a property investment.
The party owns 70% of its former headquarters, Cunningham House, the value of which has been written down from £1.1m to £875,000.
It is understood that if it had avoided the write down of the property, the UUP would have recorded its most successful financial year.
Ness Park Awarded Green Flag
A prestigious Green Flag award has been given to Ness Country Park, marking the first time such an award has gone to the North West.
The park, located between L'Derry and Dungiven, is managed by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA)
Welcoming the award, Environment Minister Mark H Durkan said: "This National award is a sign to visitors that the park boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities.
"This is particularly good news as it is the first time this award has been secured in the North West.
"Huge credit must go to my NIEA officials who manage the park and for the essential work they do in maintaining this and other facilities to such a high standard for the benefit of not only current but future generations.
"We are determined to build on this success and to secure the award for other NIEA managed Country Parks in the years to come."
Belfast Motor Show Criticised
The organisers of the Belfast Motor Show have responded to complaints about the quality of the show, saying that all new events suffer "teething problems".
According to a report by UTV, a number of attendants at the show complained about the entry price and how quickly they had made it around the event.
Speaking to UTV, organiser Kerry Mann, said that there had been "a lot of complaints" but that there had also been a lot of positive feedback.
It is understood that the organisers are looking into refunds for dissatisfied customers but added that there was currently no policy in place.

The PSNI has welcomed the sentencing of a man at Craigavon Crown Court in connection with a cannabis farm disovered in Annahilt in February, 2023. Clive Weir, from the Annahilt area, was sentenced to 18 months in prison and 18 months on licence.
