'Belfast Hour' Makes Business Waves On Twitter
A new social media initiative has been launched that will seek to open dialogue and develop links among businesses in Belfast to boost the local economy.
Law firm Edwards & Co Solicitors has launched 'Belfast hour', a new initiative on Twitter that reportedly now involves over 350 businesses every week.
Businesses and individuals are encouraged to discuss any topic relating to the local economy for an hour every Thursday between 21:00 - 22:00. Subjects could include pitching for business, sharing good news stories, promoting other businesses, to general networking to connect with new contacts.
Users are encouraged to use the hashtag #belfasthour to connect all posts and open dialogue between sellers and the public.
Glyn Roberts, Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Independent Retail and Trade Association (NIIRTA) said: "Edwards & Co has demonstrated an innovative approach to stimulating the local SME market by introducing Belfast hour.
"The initiative is very exciting for entrepreneurs, independent traders and SMEs in Belfast and is a chance for many to receive much needed support and to make contacts which can hopefully benefit their business. With the economy on the rise, a platform like this can make a very positive impact on the way business is done in Northern Ireland as a whole."
